Hoodsly’s wood range hoods come in an array of designs and colors to match your kitchen perfectly. The curved with strapping hood is one of our most popular models and is the perfect complement for a trendy, stylish home. The curved with strapping hood comes in raw, primed/paint ready, or stained/painted. Choose one of our trending colors or match your kitchen with a custom color choice, for an additional fee. Designed to be both elegant and effective, each wood range hood was built with our Proprietary Two-Piece Construction for easy installation, allowing for easy access to fan and ducting.
The curved with brass strapping is climbing the charts in popularity due to the modern twist to the classic curve! The brass strapping sits atop our flat molding on the apron and chimney. Please note – the number of straps varies based on the width of the hood. This hood is trimmable by up to 6″ allowing for the height to be adjusted as necessary for your desired height.
Our hoods are made from cabinet grade plywood with a white maple veneer.
IMPORTANT STAIN INFORMATION: Hoodsly is not responsible for improper staining or painting techniques used to finish a raw hood. We strongly suggest spraying a professional grade, pre-catalyzed lacquer, from brands such as Gemini, Mohawk, ML Campbell, and Acroma Pro. Wiping Stains, such as Minwax, are not recommended and we highly suggest using a professional product and method. Wiping stains can cause inconsistent staining during the application of the stain. Wood filler, pin nails, knots, mineralization, and multi-dimensional graining are commonly used in our build methods and are not considered defects.
Recommended for use with Zline range hood inserts, Tradewinds hood liners, and Broan for 30″ and 36″ units.
Hood liners and blowers are sold separately and in many cases will ship separately from the wood hood.

How long does it take to receive my hood after I order it?
All of our hoods are made to order, we do not keep any in stock. For non-custom orders, our standard lead time is 20-25 business days. Once the hood is made we use R&L Carriers to ship. For any custom orders, the lead time is 3-5 weeks.
What are the interior dimensions of our hoods?
Our hoods are made of 3/4″ plywood material with a maple veneer. In order to determine the interior dimensions, you will take the size hood that you are looking at and you will subtract 1.5″. For instance, for a 36″ hood (please note the total exterior width for this option is 37.5″), the interior width would be 34.5″ wide, the standard interior depth is 18″ but we do offer the option for an increased depth to either 20.5″ or 22.5″. For all of our hoods, the apron height is 8-1/4″ tall.
Will my insert work with your hood?
To determine if your insert will fit you must look at the interior dimensions of the hood. We use 3/4″ thick material for the construction of the hoods. To determine the interior width you would look at the size hood you are interested in and subtract 1.5″. For example, for a 48″ hood (please note total exterior width for this option is 49.5″) the interior width would be 46.5″ wide. Then you must determine the interior depth. We have three options 18″, 20.5″ or 22.5″. Make sure to purchase the option that will best accommodate your insert. You must also look at height. The apron of all of our hoods is 8-1/4″ tall. If your insert is taller than this I would recommend reaching out to us directly so we can determine if it will work.
What are your hoods made of?
Our hoods are made plywood with a maple veneer. We have some options that include a walnut band.
Do you offer custom paint matches?
We can custom match paint to your specific color for an additional $650 on top of the raw cost of a hood. In order to do this, we require that you mail a physical sample of the color desired to our factory to be matched to. Please write your name or order number on the back of the sample.
Can I get the hood without the trim installed?
Yes, please either call us directly or put a custom note in your order if you want to do this. Please note that our hoods are a two-piece construction to allow for easy installation. Because of this, we highly recommend installing the trim as there will be a seam between where the chimney and the apron of the hood meet.
What are total exterior dimensions of your hoods?
We use 3/4″ thick trim on our hoods. To determine total exterior width you will add 1.5″ to the size hood you are interested in. For example, for a 30″ wide hood, the total exterior width will be 31.5″.
What height hood do I need for my ceiling height?
We recommend 30″-36″ between your cooktop and the bottom of the hood. Typically, if you have 8′ ceilings we would recommend a 30″ tall hood. With 9′ ceilings we recommend a 36″ tall hood and with 10′ ceilings, we recommend a 48″ tall hood
Is the hood trimmable?
Yes, every hood is trimmable by up to 6″. You can do this yourself or we are happy to cut it down before we ship it for an additional $125. Please note that you cannot cut the hoods by more than 6″ as it will threaten the structural integrity of the hoods.
